Ushers

Being an Usher is one of the many important roles that needs to be filled so we can have a successful Mass, from start to finish. The specific tasks are listed below, but one thing that happens often is just being the approachable person with the answers to the questions of those attending Mass.

The Usher is expected to arrive 10-15 minutes early in order to greet parishioners, open the glass doors for people as they arrive, and also choose someone to take up the gifts during Mass.

During Mass, the Ushers collect the donations, take them up with the gifts, and then go the room behind the altar to put the collection into the safe.

After mass, the Ushers open the doors, pass out bulletins, and say goodbye to the parishioners. When the church is mostly empty, the Ushers close the doors, pick up any trash, and clean up the pews (putting back the books, St. Michael Prayer sheet, envelopes, etc.).

And finally, since you will be taking an important role in the Mass, we ask that you follow our Dress Code.
